This morning, I stopped by CTV to talk about a dangerous and disturbing trend that's been popular among young women - the desire to 'achieve' a thigh gap. Some women naturally have a gap between their thighs, while for some it just isn't part of their genetic makeup. However, social media has been providing a means of 'thinspiration' for young women to starve themselves.
As a psychotherapist, this is deeply concerning. I've seen so many women suffer with body image issues, it's frightening to think that the trends could be promoting even more dangerous lengths to achieve an ideal 'beauty.'
